And that’s a wrap! Leap of Faith taught us to “Rise Up” to the occasion and that sometimes we need to take a “Leap of Faith”. The journey from rehearsals to opening night was a rocky one, but we’re blessed to have so many talented members of our program who were able to “Step Into The Light” in our time of need. The cast and crew of this show have been so hardworking and positive, and we’re so thankful to have such an amazing group to work with in the program. We could not have done the show without our amazing pit, lead by Mrs. Granzow, and our choral director Mr. Moore, who really personified the idea of family that we strive to create during our season. But most of all we’d like to thank Mr. Berish, the real ring leader of our group who made it rain — literally!

About the Show

Brothers and Sisters, are you ready for a miracle tonight? Join the Angels of Mercy as they spread the word of the Lord, while scamming unsuspecting townsfolk of their money. The whole show is led by the infamous con-man, Jonas Nightingale: an alleged healer with a heart of— well, not gold, but something LIKE gold. Copper, maybe?

But when their bus breaks down in the drought-stricken town of Sweetwater, Kansas, Jonas meets their Sheriff and her son, who forces the cynic to take a real leap of faith.

About the Music

Alan Menken is the genius behind many of the greatest musical scores, including films such as: The Little Mermaid (1989), Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), Hercules (1997), Tangled (2010). Not only that, but his talents have also gifted us with the following musicals: Little Shop of Horrors (1982), Newsies (1992), A Christmas Carol (1994).

Menken certainly didn’t slack off when composing for Leap of Faith. In fact, he collaborated with lyricist Glenn Slater to give the production a wide variety of tunes, varying from heart wrenching ballads to exciting dance numbers.
